Use TIA Portal STEP 7 for real supported SIMATIC projects. Add S7-PLCSIM when the corresponding TIA-integrated simulation scope is sufficient, or S7-PLCSIM Advanced V8.0 when the test requires Ethernet-connected instances, APIs or a broader virtual-commissioning interface. Add Factory I/O for an external 3D process. Use PLC Simulation Software only as a guided browser learning layer before rebuilding and validating the work in Siemens’ environment.
